This Tuesday, October 13th, 2020 @ 7:30 p.m. in association with the Pandemic Play Reading Series, the humming bird theatre co. will be presenting something a little different.

It’s called: Soundtrack ’63, created by young artists, Chen Lo and Asanté Amin.

It’s a musical and multimedia retrospective of the Black experience in America with highlights of the 60s and connections to the present.

Soundtrack ’63 explores how Black artists of the Civil Rights and Black Power movements used their art to inspire, raise awareness, and fight social oppression.

This episode, from LEARN WITH CARNEGIE, features interviews conducted by Soul Science Lab that highlight social justice luminaries, including poet Sonia Sanchez; philosopher, activist, and author Cornel West; and author and activist Ilyasah Shabazz, the daughter of Malcolm X.

This creative video runs for 58 minutes and will be followed by a 30-minute open discussion.

This reading is scheduled for:

Tuesday Oct. 13, 2020 07:30 PM (concluded)
