By Keith Hamilton Cobb
An experienced Black actor, Keith, attends an audition for a new production of “Othello.” He learns the young director of the show is white, who has his own ideas on how the Venetian Moor should be presented. What follows is a personal journey that shows – according to the published script – “the intelligent, intuitive, indomitable, large, Black, American male actor (exploring) Shakespeare, race and America…not necessarily in that order.”
The Pandemic Play Reading Series presents “American Moor,” a nearly solo play written by actor Keith Hamilton Cobb (“All My Children,” “Andromeda”) and directed by Justin Rielly.
